El Pacifico

Costa Rica
We arrived in Playa de Coco a couple of days ago and have had beach days!  Today we went over to Playa Ocatel. Snorkeling, suntanning and chillaxing are on the agenda for the next few days.

A guy on the beach speared a couple of octopus and two other fellows snagged some fish plus an eel! I asked R to go catch us some octopus for calamari tonight and he said he could if only he could make a spear or had a hook!

The focus is no longer on finding two toed sloths or jaguars but on puffer fish, trumpet fish and the slew of colorful sea life of the ocean! R spotted a eagle ray while snorkeling amongst the rocks around the bend.

The fishes I saw include puffer fish, a school of yellow fish and a dark blacken one. On the walk back we saw this real cool white throated magpie jay! Gorgeous!

You should count your blessings with your weather back home. We have our own issues here too! It's a unbearable plus 35 degrees outside. At least you guys can keep putting more layers of clothing on- there us only so much you can take off here!

Year of the Rabbit
Gung Hay Fat Choy everyone! It's a new Year of the Rabbit! Very auspicious for my friends and myself that are the lucky rabbits!

Costa Rican Von Trapp Family
We have been staying in this cute little cabinas with a deck sitting area and kitchenette with fridge for frio bebidas. Early this morning we heard our neighbors the Costa Rican answer to the Von Trapp family singing along to a Spanish karaoke song! When we went out to have breakfast and there they - the entire family including the grandmother singing away! too funny!
