Survivor Nicaragua

Catch A Wave
We went to Playa Maderas for surf lessons today! Learning to surf has always been on my bucket list. I've been dreaming of it since my first visit to California. It has taken me 25 years to realize this dream!

What a blast! Our instructor was a Peruvian surfer from ole school of surf! He looked a bit like Gene Wilder and had the crazy hair! He spoke of surfing as karma and the moments I found myself riding a wave back to shore I did experienced it as a zen state.

I got up after the second try and had a few good rides. R looked great, he caught some real big waves and also had the same permanent smile that I had all day! Do you think I can claim a surf board on my wellness account?

Not us....Maybe in a zillion years!!! heh x3

Nicaragua bus trip
Getting to Nicaragua via the Penas Blanco border crossing. The bus driver had a nice collection of stickers at the front of the bus. There was the Jesus collection of images on the huge rearview mirror and a collection of animal characters off to the right. Then behind the rear view mirror was one lone playboy sticker. I was trying to make out the meaning of his categorization of stickers. Looking into the rear view mirror and seeing his own reflection with images of Jesus or looking off to the right for animals on the side of the road. But what was the reference with the lone playboy sticker to the left?

The Nicaraguan people are very warm, friendly and helpful. When we arrived in San Juan del Sur the small community population of 18000. I like it here.
